Subject: Comets! (and Syncro de Mayo Este 2004)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

Okay, as a distraction from the normal list topics, I'll mention that Syncro de Mayo Este 2004 is coming up in 2 weeks. As an added bonus if the weather is clear we'll be located in a place that has fabulously dark skies for star watching....

Of course with the comet being somewhat near to the western horizon, we might want to have a trek up to Reddish Knob for a better view on Friday night or Saturday night (noting that Saturday night is when we'd have the pot luck dinner.)

There was 3 comets that are currently (or will be shortly) visible to the naked eye. Unfortunately, being in the Northern Hemisphere, most of us, won't have a chance to see all 3 or even 2 simultaneously. Time for us to be envious of Andrew in NZ....
