Anyone have any insight on getting a 5-speed transmission in my '87 Vanagon. Tired of pulling 4,000 revs on long road trips...

Thanks.

The golf/ Jetta ECU uses an external spark control. Why I don't know. It may be because they also require a knock sensor witch the Vanagon engines do not require. One another note, this ecu makes this engine the best choice for engine swaps.
