Subject: unclas Oil Cooler Pre-emptive Replacement

I have an '88 Westy with 233,000 miles on an original automatic trans. (the engine has been done)

I have seen an occasional reference regarding pre-emptive replacement of the oil cooler on the grounds that coolant in the fluid is a no-no.

Has anyone had experience with failed coolers and does anyone have an opinion on pre-emptive replacement.

thanks Geoff Thomas 233,000 and still going strong
