I know this comes up a lot. Surfed the archives a little.

Mine is set (I don't have a dwell meter) around 2cm to the left of the block seam, @900rpm. Maybe 6-8º BTDC? Runs ok, maybe a little low on power at low RPM (aren't they all?). No knocking or pinging, but at idle I feel there's an odor of pre-ignition. I'd like to trial-n-error it. Any warnings?
