Now this has gotten me curious... if the pully-side seal has been replaced multiple times, it has to be the case causing the problem, right (unless all those seals are bad)? In situations like this what would cause the problem, and how would a fix be arrived at -- besides scrapping the case? I'm hearing a lot of unhappiness, but not what can be done about it.

Please, no more discussions of people's character -- I'm just interested in the technical solution.
