Subject: gas gauge off
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

hey all, on my 87 syncro westy the gas gauge reads about a 1/4 low. this is the second tach i have had in there that reads that way. heres the thing, the tachs were both from 2wd vans. is there a difference in syncro tachs and 2wd tachs? the first 2wd tach i had in there it read 1/4 low, so i replaced it with another 2wd tach. the first week it read perfect so i thought i fixed the problem. but now today it started to read 1/4 low again. is it the tach or could my gas gauge sensor be going bad? if it is the sensor, does this eem like a common example of a bad one. also, if it is the sensor, how do i replace it? do i have to pull the tank which, since this is a syncro, would mean pull the engine? this is a real annoying problem. TIA jason
