Well, with all of the ugly discussions going on regarding rebuilders, I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions for a rebuilder in Southern California. I have one contact, a place called Fast German in Santa Ana which was recommended to me by a VW freak I know.. but I'm interested in hearing about other places so I can contrast and compare.

In the interest of list sanity, please keep rants regarding total screw-ups offlist.. I'd like to hear them, but I'm not sure everyone else does.
