FWIW, shortly after we picked up our '85 Vanagon (two weeks ago today) we noticed that our rear seat pulled out from the front, the back laid down (toward the back). I don't know if that's a "weekender seat" but it looks like it could be a fairly comfortable bed sort of thing. I found out yesterday that the seat back also folds down forward (so it lays on top of the rear seat). Maybe yours will do both too.

Hi listee's

My 85 Vanagon has the forward folding rear seat, but I would like to = convert to the weekender bed package. Can I just change the mounting/hinge hardware + some modifications, or = do I need the whole weekender seat? The original seat doesn't seem to be as flat as the weekender seat and = this seat has two bench supports/legs underneath.

thanks=20
