I have always assumed that those little bumps on the front of the lenses are there for the use of "real" headlite aiming machines, but I have never found any concrete info. Perhaps if this is true, there is a way to build a fixture of some type and avoid the shining on the wall and estimating where the edge of the pattern is, etc., etc.
