I loaned my vanagon to friends last weekend and didn't drive it until yesterday. It stumbled on acceleration so badly and went at parkling-lot speed so rough that I thought they may have put some very bad gas in and clogged the injectors. I put in some cleaner, but today it drove the freeway fine but on an access road lost all power. I'll get to the point and tell you that it was the fuel filter, at least so it seems so far. I banged the inlet end on the driveway and watched what looked like red mud and gasoline slurry come out. So don't overlook this cheap and easy-to-install part. Jim |
