Pete,
The key is to determine what is wrong is troubleshooting the problem when the van won't start. Are you missing ignition (spark)? If you are missing spark is it the coil wiring or is it the computer or FI? Do you have fuel pressure?
I suggest you attempt to duplicate the failure and then check for these system failures to identify the cause of the stalling.
I suspect fuel pressure, spark or other FI issues (engine temperature or Hall sensor) are the likely causes of your problems.
