Not really. It's fairly standard procedure to remove the automatic transmission for rebuild whilst leaving the differential in the van. We do it all the time. It can be a PITA to get everything lined up during install, but it's no big deal.

Cheers,

Hi, sorry to hear that, BTDT. Did you lower and install the tranny and differential as a unit? Is the linkage for the gear position installed properly? It may be misadjusted. Depending on how the transmission was reinstalled, it may have destroyed a few parts inside. It happened to me. They have to be R&R as a unit, or else.

Now, that it is installed, my AT does nothing.not so much as a clunk. Now when i worked on the motor, I did take the torque converter off, it did leak some fluid out. But i did reinstall and put the 3 bolts to hold it in place. It spins with the motor. I broke the motor in and bled the coolant in the driveway, adjusted valves, CO mix, etc., and then i was going to road test. But it would not go. I checked fluid, seems OVER FILLED now. what gives? I added no fluid.........
