Hello fellow Volk Folks!

We are getting close to the Spring Campout and Car Show. We have had an overwhelming response and it looks like we are going to have another great turn out for the May 21-23 event. If you have not made your reservations yet please call Tom at Grand Rogue Campground in Belmont, MI (Grand Rapids Area) at 616-361-1053 make sure you tell them that you are with the Buses By the Beach Group so we can keep everyone together.

We are going to have a great weekend. No one is going to go home empty handed. We have lots of VW related items that have been donated for our fund raising raffle by Volkswagen of America, GoWesty, Bus Depot, and many, many other thoughtful Volk Folks. If you have a VW related item that you would like to donate to the raffle we welcome others to participate.

For those that are new to Buses By the Beach.com we are an organization with the goal in mind of raising money for Burn Survivors. We do this through the campground donating $5 per night per site to the event. We will also be selling t-shirts and stickers and on Saturday night we are having Smoked BBQ Ribs. All the money we raise is applied to a matching grant foundation that will match what we raise for our charities. The car show on Saturday is a separate event put on by different people but it is also a fund raiser for the same cause. There is going to be over 500 cars there. The cars will mostly be American Iron. Last year we were the hit of the show. We arrived late in true VW style like a herd of angry bumble bees all lined up. There were pretty buses, rusty buses and sticker buses all together celebrating the vehicles we love and the fun we have with them. This year our goal is to beat the Mustang club for the most cars present.

On Sunday we are cara-busing (caravanning) to the Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Club annual Car Show. This is one of the countries premier events with both Hot VW and VW Trends magazines present. MVVC is one of our major supporters and have donated a generous sum of money to our cause. They have invited our group to be an official participant in the show and would like us to talk a little about what we do over the loud speaker.

We can not wait to be together again with our friends and we are looking forward to meeting new ones.

If anyone has mechanical troubles while on the way to the event please feel free to call Todd Olson on his cell phone at (616) 443-6475 for road side assistance in the Michigan area. Anyone arriving early is also welcome to camp for free at Todd’s house on Sunfish Lake in Rockford, MI.

Wishing you many miles of smiles!

Your Friends at Buses By the Beach.
