what are your compression numbers. as for testing the injectors you should be able to pull them and leave them attached to the fuel rail. then set set up a fuel pump relay jumper and a jumper to fire to coils on the injectors. this should allow you to watch the spray pattern. if i turns out to be the injectors there is a guy in michigan who rebuilds injectors.

i would also check the valves as it seems you had problems with bent pushrods.
