I put a semi large volume gas valve between the tank and the filter so I can turn off the flow from the tank when I change the filter. Never was comfortable vise gripping those short rubber hoses. Stiill get a dribble from the other side, but no major flow. thew valve can also act as a theft deterrent should you park in the boonie often and want the van to be there(or not too far down the road) when you get back. By quickly crawling under the van and turning off the valve, the would be crooks will soon run out of fuel.
