Yes, I recently put an Optima Yellow Top in my 89 Westy. I had to cut away some metal in the forward-and-top part of the battery box to do it and I'm still left with a tight fit -- but it does fit. After reinstalling the seat, the side posts are about 1/4 inch from the metal of the structure that holds the seat. I'd like more room but am not willing to cut into that structure.

I can't send photos but would appreciate seeing your photos. Thanks for the offer.
