I did a quick search for dealers on the Blaupunkt website. The closest dealer to Winnipeg is in the Minneapolis area. I searched in the Calgary and Toronto areas but nothing came up.

This would lead me to believe that they are not sold up here (Canada) anymore? Either way looking at their suggested retail prices and features - I think Alpine/Pioneer/etc. are far better values.

I am also planning on upgrading my Westy stereo - and the cheapest "quality" head-unit with MP3 capability and 3 pre-outs for amps/subs/etc. rings in at $300 CDN minimum.

From what I gather - the Alpine units offer the cleanest "real" wattage if you are going the sans-amp setup.

I bought one from Walmart... I hated the damn thing... they're all silver now.

Time to get a new CD player that plays MP3's and recognizes burned discs. I was thinking about keeping it in the family and looking at a Blaupunkt but I can't find any in my neck of the woods (Winnipeg Canada). Anybody know if they're available in Canada? Love that little blue dot.

Also, what is their reputation like lately?

Thanks Jeff 85 Westfalia GL
