I second what and how Tim said..nearly my own exact feelings/words I'll kick a few bux into the kitty. as soon as I can find the PP info thru all these posts.

I've also been on the gratuitous end of anothers generosity, as well as had a few occasions to return it to unknown members of society VW nut or not

OK, I've joined the cause, and forwarded some cash to Larry. Some folks seem to be offended by the idea, but here's my reasons:

- When I was traveling through Oregon in my Westie, I managed to get firmly stuck on a soft shoulder... I pulled off on a long upgrade to let a semi get by me, and couldn't get my 2WD van out of the sand. Two complete strangers with a pickup truck, a tow rope and a dog stopped within five minutes, offered to help and got me back on the road. Way faster than AAA, and they didn't ask for a dime.

- I've visited Larry's website dozens of times, I intend to steal every good idea I can afford for my own camper, I've enjoyed all the stories, and perused the event schedule. Larry did all the work to assemble that site, and provided it free to all the world. I have, and will, benefit from his ideas and experience.

So I sent a few bucks... I can afford it, I owe it to those two nameless strangers who helped me out when I needed it.

<soapbox> Normally, I'd do so silently, but I'm trying to balance the vocal few who are trying to talk list members *out* of helping. Seems odd, since this list is *all about* helping each other out. If you can't help, then don't.. that's fine. But don't go out of your way to *deny* help to a fellow listee... that just invites bad karma. </soapbox>

Tim
