Subject:      Cigar. and Glove Box light question

I'm trying to fix the lights on my cigar. lighter and the light above the
glove box. What turns the light on the cigar. lighter and the glove box.
Both wires that feed the lights stay on (hot) no matter what.

Does the cigar. light dim with the dash lights?

what switches the light in the dash above the glove box?
