phil cain <bearsvw2000@YAHOO.COM> Install the flex drive with the shims that you left in place and check the end play to make sure that it is set to .03-.05 thousands ------------------------ I just quoted you the Type IV engine end play specs of *Set it to .007 to .015.* ------------------------ Phil Cain just told you to set them to the specs in the top line. I see those as specs for a Type I and Type 2 engine in my manuals. Double check Bentleys or your specific manual for your year model engine. If the shims were set properly it might not make any difference but I often find differences between old and rebuilt flywheel fit that requires adjusting the shims. Just be sure you turn the crank by hand after you torque down the flex plate to be sure you're turning free and not binding on the shims.
