His '88GL was loaded with kids and stuff for a weeklong stay at the beach. It was their annual family trek. After the '88 pooped out on the road, he had it towed to the nearest VW dealer; after hearing the diagnosis, he looked at the lot, pointed to the '91 and started loading it up...the salesman was VERY HAPPY to deal! AND as a very busy partner in a very busy law firm, he was more than glad to get back on the road and put miles behind him with his family.
