33 Bought my first one at 21, and '82 diesel, for $1000 from someone that used it as a dirt hauling car for the garden. Took a lot of cleaning and some TLC, but we fixed it up and took it on a 3 month tour of the U.S. It was a sweet vehicle and forced us to look at the country from just above bicycle speeds at times :) Bought my current one, an '86 gasoline, when I was 28 living in Germany. It was a florida car actually, I bought it from someone in the military. I had it shipped back. It has been off the road for awhile, but we took the engine out this winter and did a ton of work...should be back in action soon.... If I could have that diesel back it would be great, that van just had a good vibe. This one is a ton nicer, but just doesn't have that same personality yet...probably b/c I haven't actually lived in it. Funny how they can become 'home' Jason |
