Sometime during the winter, the wire to the A/C compressor went "somewhere" ... I know not where. Currently, the black wire that exits from the compressor connects to a red wire that broke. There are only about 2 inches of red wire beyond the connector. I cannot find the other end of this wire in order to effect a repair. All I know is it used to go off to the left toward the coil, but I can't find a broken wire nor a connector that's missing an input. Bentley seems to indicate that it goes to a connector that's between the A/C compressor cut-out relay and the idle speed stabilizer valve but offers no location for the connector (1980~1991, pps 97.137 and 97.138). Where is the compressor cut-out relay physically located? I may end up having to run a new wire unless one of you with an '84 or '85 Westy with A/C can help with where this red wire is supposed to connect. My '84 7 passenger has A/C but its red wire runs under the van to the driver's wheel well where it enters the vehicle, so it's no help. Thanks, Mike Houlton, Maine '84 GL 7 pass '85 GL Westy |
