The last non Vanagon bus I had was a 66 Split window bus with a 1776 cc
engine, it had a few mods other than the dual carbs (I didn't build the
engine).
The 66 was a real freeway flyer that had no problems running right into the
80-85 mph range and still kept respectable RPMS of around 4000.
The velocity powered heat worked great.
The only downside I found to it was that it was so fast I had to quit
driving it because I was having so much fun I was afraid I was going to
split the case the easy way.
