And I had this problem for a long time before I actually addressed it. The van was fine on short hauls as it took a while for the gas to accumulate in the system. It was after a long trip from Atlanta to Raleigh and back that I finally decided that I had to address the problem. I took the trip in cold weather and the van was only overheating at idle--it was fine at 70.
