I made the original post on this yesterday.  It took
me about 5 minutes to thread the new foam in there.  I
don't know why anyone would want to open up the
plastic unit.  Unless one takes the window out, one
risks not getting a tight weather seal when
re-assembling.

When I did mine (yesteday), it was out of the window,
but one could do it 'in situ' with a vacumn cleaner to
suck out the old foam bits as it crumbles.  Really an
easy proceedure.

I can send pictures to anyone who wants.
