Subject: 1st time pulling my WBX, Advice?
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hey there friends

I'm going to be pulling my first vanagon engine this coming weekend. I've got a golf ball size hole in my 89 Westy block. Getting ready to do a TIICOnversion.

Any suggestions? Is the Bentley book all I need?

Any hard learned lessons?

I also want to do a total engine compartment clean up, any degreaser favorites out there (nontoxic please)? Any suggestions with the clean up?

For those of you who have done the TIICO, what stock parts do I need to leave in?

Any maintenance I can or should do on the Tranny, suspension, body while I have the engine out?

Any unusual tools to keep handy?

A future thanks.

Bryan Duggan bduggan@mindspring.com
