Where the pedal attaches to the cable end may be worn away. I had that problem once, replaced the pedal with one from a junker. Bunch of work getting the pedal cluster out!!!!

Kind of scary, the pedal metal was almost worn through, and the clutch would have been stuck in the engaged postion. Not a good thing while folks are crossing in front of the van, and I've got it in gear while stopped!

That reminds me, I should shoot some spray grease up there in my latest beast. What is the list's fav brand of spray grease (not oil)?

thanks,

Yesterday, the clutch pedal on my 87 GL Wolfsburg got stuck half way up. I could still depress it and change gears, but there was slippage at the clutch. When I forced it back up by hand, it wouldn't give at first and then it came up to the full height after what felt like metal scraping against metal. It happened a few times more since then. Now the pedal travels the full length as before, but I can feel slight drag/scrape half-way of its travel. Has anyone had this happen? I consulted the Bentley manual and visually checked the system but found no obvious defect. Thanks.
