Subject: 1.9 TDI engine conversion
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have heard of the 1.9L Turbo Diesel engines being used in the vanagon but have never found a good write up on it. How many of you engine conversion folks have done this conversion compared to the Suby 2.2 , 2.5 or the Tiico engine?

With fuel prices getting way out of hand, sure seems like the TDI engine would have some good merit.

I have heard rumor they deliver over 30MPG in the vanagon and offer more torque for hills than the WBX by a noticeable amount?

Thanks,

Doug
