USAA Roadside Assist is operated by Cross Country Motor Club.

I had an experience with them on April 1st (interestingly enough) that left
a very sour taste in my mouth. Let's just say incompetent staff and leave it
at that. However, it's relatively inexpensive- $5.88 per car for 6 month's
coverage. 12 mile tow limit -OR- to the nearest "qualified" repair facility.
I had a tow of 30+ miles that cost me $70 after the USAA Roadside Assist
portion elapsed. Their definition of a qualified shop is questionable; what
they had on their records as a qualified shop didn't work on aircooleds
(what I have), so it was towed back home. The staff didn't pursue the
availability of alternates and I didn't think to ask at the time.

And they'll foot the bill for 1 hour of roadside mechanic time, but good
luck in finding that.
