My first vehicle was a "60 caddy purchased in 1969. My second, a "69 Triumph Spitfire was followed by a "64 Sunbeam Alpine, a "50 plymouth, a "67 Austin Healy Sprite and a host of other foreign and american cars including Austin Healy's, MGs, BMWs Saabs, Hondas, as well as various GM and Ford vehicles.

My wife convinced me to purchase our first bus, a 71 transporter with excess rust when she carrying our second son. Our second VW was a "73 and our third was a "79 which was so much fun with our three sons, taking vacations and making frequent trips to Cape Cod, NH and Southern Maine. A great family and beach vehicle! So many great memories!

We purchased our first Vanagon, an "84 and enjoyed more comfortable travelling with cloth seats, AC, and plenty of room for our young bear cubs! Introduction to waterboxer leaking and FI problems were not a plus!

I have owned busses and vans since my children were young, more than 20 years ago. I have owned three busses and six vanagons during this time. My oldest son, now 22 has owned a "76 Westy and a "87 Syncro.

VW busses and vans have contributed greatly to my family life and have personally provided me with a lot of enjoyment. I like to drive these vans. I currently have an 87 Wolfsburg and a 90 Westy both converted with Subaru 2.2L engines.
