When I wrecked my Vanagon in Dallas last fall, and was stranded 200 miles
from home, I called Stan. Within about 30 minutes, driving in evening rush
hour traffic, he was there with good advice (trailer the van home, instead
of trying to jury-rig a repair; sound familiar?), and an offer to help me
find local parts, should I ignore his advice. Based on his actions (and not
just words), I think he "knows" about generosity, as defined by your
previous post (below). Perhaps you should be less generous with commentary
about people you don't really know.
