When I had my windshield replaced on my 84 Westy in 1998, the local glass shop in Redding, CA came out to the house, I had the new seal, they had the glass and while watching them install it, I didn't see them use any kind of sealant/glue/adhesive.


Still have the same glass (with the subsequent road hash/chips/whatnot) after 6 years, but it's never leaked in even in the harshest of downpours.  Guess I'm lucky.


Was that rope-a-dope?  Oh yeah, rope and soap....:-)
