Perfect aircooled vans and westies can be found under $1500. Rebuilding an engine professionally cost abot $3500 in Bay Area dollars. doesn't make good financial sense to fix one. Come and get 'em. Otherwise we cut them up for parts. Tim, I only have one 87 in the 7 Vanagons that I own. I did commit to selling the 88 Westy fixer to Zoltan from Seattle for $3500 and the 89 GL to my buddy Jero for $1500. Hurray. I'll be down to 5. Heck I heard California Campers own some 35 Westies to rent out. I saw more than a dozen on their rooftop parking lot just yesterday. All their rigs looked pretty rust free.
