HI Volks, I am in the middle of flushing and refilling coolant on my '90 Westy. The metal insert on the radiator end of one of the plastic pipes has come out about 1/4" to 3/8". I have tried twisting it, and putting a wood block against the end and hitting it with a hammer to force it back in. Twisting does nothing (I didn't want to damage it further) and hitting it with the block "may" have pushed it in a fraction. The insert is still solid with only a "little" rust, and there is still enough inside for the hose clamp to grip on. I am not now in a position to get a new pipe or much of anything else before I put it back together and re-fill with fresh coolant, but thought while I eat lunch, I would ask the world-wide web of Vanagon experts. Thanks, Jerry |
