Marshall ~~~ A few questions about the lower end ,did you put in rod ,main, cam bearings and a front & rear crank seal ?? YOU may have done more damage from the overheating than you think .Low power problems after warming up may be from insatalling the new standard O/D main bearings ,the cases may be warped and when the case halfs are tightened ,this will put a bind or squeeze on the crank /bearing surfaces ( Simply it makes the new round bearing out of round ) after heating up the metal expands and it will put a bind on your crank // round crank trying to turn in a oblong bearing // You may need to align bore your cases and install oversize O/D main bearings. // Also your cam bearing area may be warped putting a bind on your cam after heating up // To check all the above items you will have to disassemble the case halfs you will see the bind marks on the main or cam bearings if this is your problem // Next is your mid section or piston & cylinder area YOU NEVER PUT NEW ROUND RINGS IN a used out of round cylinder NEVER !!!!!! ALL HORIZONTAL engine piston & cylinders wear egg shaped. // You are putting new round rings on 2 out of round objects ~~ piston & cylinder it does not work ) after heating up you may have lower compression from ring blow by or you may encounter your rings binding on high area,s // After hot run a compression test and also a air test on each cylinder to see where you stand // heads may also be warped and you may be leaking compression at the cylinder and head mating area after heating up // Run the tests and get back to the gang with results Get yourself a NEW piston and cylinder and ring kit for A proper mid section // there tis NO shortcut in that area !!! Remember NEVER !!!
