Subject: Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs..great or gimmick??? anyone
              tried em? (fwd)

Hi folks,

don't know about for sure how they work in Vanagon applications (yet) but I bought one for my Saab and did the 'garage wall comparative test'.

The Silverstar was noticably brighter and a little whiter (though that may also be due to the age of the older bulb), enough so that I scored a sale at Pep Boys where they gave $6 off per bulb on a two pack and replaced the old "good" one. Came pretty close to the price of "regular" 9004 bulbs.

I think I'd do it again.......YMMV

has anyone tried the Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs? they sell for $38.00 a pair at wal-mart.. has anyone tried them? do they really put out more light? says they are supposed to be "brilliant white".. true or false? how about some called "XQ" "Xenon Quartz "cyber White" by Navigator.. wal-mart also sells these, but theyre cheaper.. any good? or just a gimmick?

please let us know if youve tried them..and what you think..

chris
