I think that was a mistake by the respondent who might have seen braided SS
FUEL line and thought it could be used for flexible brake line.  The website he
cited does offer braided brake hose on another page, but it must certainly
come in the form of an assembly (hose + endo's) complete with the DOT
certification marking.
