I realize the sand part, I am just failing to see the logic of ALWAYS locking the rears and front differentials at the SAME time. There are lots of times where locking the rear only is done and it would not be desirable to lock the fronts.

Treaveling on sand needs all 4 wheels locked. On sand, if the rear set of wheels spins first, it is easier to get stuck. BTDT Malcolm
