I´m kind of a freak when it comes to lighting because of working late and driving through moosecountry with little or no traffic and have checked a lot of different bulbs and for me it´s different from time to time ! In the winter whith all the snow reflecting the light I prefere to use the bluecoated H4 (General Electric Superblue/Euroblue) together with matching H1/H3 bulbs in the floodlights OR yellowish ( Philips Allweather or Osram Gold) all around but in the summer I like Philips Premium or GE Megalight both said to put out 40 - 60 % more light than regular 60/55 W bulbs - probably similar to the Silverstar ??. I´ve tried all up to 190/130 W H4 but don´t like to use them since they have a tendency to ruin your lights(reflector and glass turns yellow) because of the heat that builds up inside. I´ve even got the wiring melted on a Golf. What Í´m getting at here is that what suit one time might not do so another and we´re all indipendantly sensitive to reflexes from roadsigns and other things so it´s best to try! The thing that IS worth investing in whatever bulbs you´re using is two relays and some heavy wire to boost the power to the light! You may be able to get a couple of extra volts and that´ll make any bulb brighter ( and lightpattern more accurate). The only drawback is that it might shorten the lifespan of the bulbs a bit. How to hook up ? This is one site to get info on, there are probably moore ! http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/relays/relays.html
