What do you mean by, "repacing the can on the back"?

I have done everything except that!

Also, where did you get the replacement paste?

I took my fridge out to clean it last week, the cumbustion chamber had lots of rust flakes, but the fins on the back were quite clean. I am adding a fan and thermomitor to the inside, replacing the paste on the cold sink, and replacing the can on the back. Has anyone tried adding a bit more insulation to the bottom, top and back. I have some 1/2 inch "felt" stuff with a reflective aluminum facing. I am going to see if I can fit it to the fridge and see if it helps any. It also seems like it would be a good idea to wrap the intake and exhaust pipe in fiberglass insulation to keep the heat in the pipe and move it outdoors instead of having the bare pipe acting like a radiator.
