Yes! Use the bigger fan but don't connect it to the fuse block. All the later models with the larger fan have an added heavy red wire direct from the battery to the fan high speed relay. The small gauge fan wiring for the smaller fan should not be used for the larger one and you also need the fan resistor from an 86+ model. It would be best to get the fan wiring and high speed relay setup from an A/C equipped 86+. The high speed fan relay socket also has a 50 amp fuse attached to it to protect the added red wire from the battery. Page 97.141 of the latest Bentley has the A/C wiring for 86-88.
