Subject: AC Compressor Mount Bracket Removal - 2.1L WBX
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

Anyone have any suggestions as to howe tho get this beastie loose so it can be pulled???

I need to make a repair on the bushings for the bolts that hold the AC compressor in place. Someone in the past screwed them up bigtime, and I have left it untouched until now. But I need to work on the system, remove the compressor for re-working of the mounting ears on the compressor case, and some other stuff. Can't budge the bolts holding the compressor to the mount bracket. So, thought I would just remove the entire thing as one assembly. AC compressor, cast mount bracket and all.

Is there anything under that bracket I need to worry about. Is it just surfave mounded or does it have a gasket under it and seals something. Am I opening a can of worms??

I need to get the system repaired and serviced before it really gets hot here so I'm getting on it.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
