>> Mercedes makes all the Sprinters. Mark, thanks for the additional Sprinter info. Of course, the Freightliner... I missed the visual connection because all of the local Sprinters are white and are the long bed campers. There is an older (I'm 49) couple here in town that got the shortest Freightliner version of the 'Mercedes'/ Sprinter van about two years ago, and I've only just seen these Sprinters in town in the last six months, and never saw one before that, and we get LOTS of tourist traffic through here. Anyhow, their Freightliner is RED, and totally decked out with windows all the way around, and PLUSH interior seating. It looks like a large soccer mom van inside except one can easily stand up! It looks WEIRD motoring around town with ONE person inside most of the time. It's a van, no, it's a bus, no, it's a sign of conspicuous consumption in that incarnation. But now I know why I saw it at the local Dodge dealer last month. Give me a Vanagon and/or a Syncro any day! Later Derek - |
