When you're forced to try to merge into traffic going 70 mph, and all the accelleration you can muster only gets you to 40 mph by the end of the ramp, it's pretty dangerous. By the way, in Michigan we have both a legal maximum and a legal minimum on our freeways. The legal minimum speed is 45 mph.
