When the luggage rack is full of cargo it will block the signal. BTDT. I have now mounted mine on the right hand corner of the luggage rack on the surface of the Fiberglas with double sided tape and a piece of plate steel on the back side of the Fiberglas. It is working perfectly there. I ran the antenna wire behind the dash, up the windshield post, tucked the wire behind the windshield rubber, out the top corner of the door opening, around the corner of the drip rail, along the edge of the luggage rack seal to the space between the right hand luggage rack screw and corner where the antenna is mounted. < < < < < < Cheers, Frank Condelli Almonte, Ontario, Canada _BusFusion_ (http://members.aol.com/BusFusion/bfhome.htm) a VW Camper camping event, Almonte, ON, June 10 ~ 13, 2004 '87 Westy, '90 Carat & Lionel Trains Member: _Vanagon List_ (http://www.vanagon.com/) , _LiMBO_ (http://www.bcn.net/~limbo/) , _IWCCC_ (http://www.westfalia.qc.ca/) & _CCVWC_ (http://www.ccvwc.ca/) Vanagon/Vanagon Westfalia Service in the Ottawa Valley _STEBRO/Vanagon Stainless Steel Mufflers_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/stebro.htm) _Frank Condelli & Associates_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/busindex.html) or http://frankcondelli.com |
