I will agree that the piece of junk gas heater is safe. The hundred or so times I turned the thing on it worked good and turned itself off properly. I had the odd fume but co indicator never went off. However every spring(except this one) I go trout fishing in northern Ontario. The temperatures at night dip down to -5C sometimes even -10C. In the day the temperature goes to only +5C. The gas heater has to be turned on every 40 minutes. It runs for about 20 and will keep the van warm for about 20 minutes more. However an LP heater especially a vented one can run all night without any problems. My house, my garage and my barn all run on LP. I have never had a problem. It is like everything else, you need to maintain it. The gas heater in the van is only good if you are not camping inanything below 2C and only if it is being used for warming the vehicle up in the morning. Now that aint worth 2 cents so I will chalk it down to my 1 cents worth. Patrick 85 westy, appin Ont

Thanks Patrick ... I don't use my Aux Heater and would like to have it removed if the truth was know ... it just makes me nervous and I can't find anyone locally and that I trust to service it. But thanks for you info as I mistakenly though the "Green Knob" time was the Aux Gas Heater switch.
thanks
bob

Anyone who votes for the B.C. Liberals in the upcoming Provincial election will, in my eyes, be displaying a severe character flaw ... those who are left to support Gordon Campbell's government are running purely on pride and ego ... this government has displayed so many flaws that it would be just too embarrassing at this point for their supporters to admit that they actually voted for these people.
