Curil T, Curil K, Yamabond, are all excellent. If this "mechanic" seals cases with RTV, please tell us who it is so we can avoid him like the plague! RTV is too thick, and changes the bearing clearances and/or warps the case due to a "stressed" torque twisting the case. Good sealants will not have a measurable thickness when the case halves are torqued.

Aviation and other sealants have been used for years, but I feel they are obsolete because they are of the hardening variety. I used to use them too, but also used to use straight weight oil, you adapt with technology IMO.
