Subject: clutch replacement

Can the list members who have experience replacing Vanagon clutch components advise me whether this is something I can do myself in the garage. I would like to replace the normal clutch components and while I'm at it, I would like to replace the main seal to alleviate my oil leak. I'm mechanically inclined, but have never done a clutch job on any vehicle before. Reading through some of the reference materials, it doesn't sound too difficult. Am I a fool for contemplating this task? I appreciate advice from anyone with experience in these matters. Thank you.
