Yes, I knew it had a Eberspacher BA6 Gas Heater but had no knowledge as to how to service it before attempting to find out how to operate it (I now have a copy of the service manual thanks to Robert Keezer). My misgivings about the BA6 came from reading Jack Reed's disclaimer on his Type2.com page about the Eberspacher BA6 (please see the quote from the Jack Reed article below) and that was enough to put me on alert regarding the safety of the unit and to tell me I needed an experienced service person to work on it. An informative email from Robert Keezer has dispelled many of my worries.

Below is a quote from Vanagon list member Jack Reed. I copied it from his Type2 Page at <http://type2.com/bartnik/ba6art.htm>

"Before we proceed I'd like to offer a few words of advice concerning gasoline heaters. THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN BURN YOUR VAN WITH YOU IN IT TO THE GROUND IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, SEEK OUT A MECHANIC OR DEALER THAT DOES. Sorry I had to shout, I just wanted to make sure that everyone was paying attention."

I paid attention 8-)

Anyone who votes for the B.C. Liberals in the upcoming Provincial election will, in my eyes, be displaying a severe character flaw ... those who are left to support Gordon Campbell's government are running purely on pride and ego ... this government has displayed so many flaws that it would be just too embarrassing at this point for their supporters to admit that they actually voted for these people.
